Meet the Founder & CEO of Saint Simone Doula Club
“The process is not always pretty”
Amina Champion Founder & CEO of Saint Simone Doula Club
“As someone with a medical background, I’ve been interested in overall health and wellness for years—but officially found my passion for birth work during my first pregnancy in 2021. That pregnancy was a major turning point in my life. As a Black woman, I had to overcome a lot of fear associated with childbirth and hospitals in general. I knew what I wanted(an unmedicated water birth) and started studying for all that I would have to do to prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally for this experience. The more I studied, the more I fell in love with the process of birth and supporting others throughout their journey. This love for birth work blossomed into me becoming a trained, Full-Spectrum Doula.”
Amina has been advocating for expectant families for years.
There is a common misconception as it pertains to the pregnancy and postpartum journey. That misconception is that these life events only impact those giving birth; when in reality, these are major life events that impact your entire support circle, and they need to be informed on how to properly support both you and baby. I created Saint Simone Doula Club to open up a safe space for expectant families to receive the support and information they need. Our goal is for you to not need us after awhile!
